At Canal City Industrial, we take genuine pride in our work. Our passion is delivering high‑quality steel installations for Ohio’s construction and fabrication industries, from structural components to featured architectural elements. With most of our team bringing over 20 years of experience, every project is backed by proven expertise.
We welcome a challenge. Some days we’re fabricating and installing large foundational structures; other days we’re focused on detailed ornamental pieces. FOUNDER
About Nate Gurnish, Owner
Nate Gurnish is the founder and steel expert behind Canal City Industrial. A longtime member of the Steel Erectors Association of America, he brings decades of hands‑on experience in the trades and steel industry. Nate worked in the trades throughout high school and college—even while beginning his career as a teacher—but ultimately realized that steel work was his true calling. He joined a steel fabrication company, where he gained deep, practical knowledge of the industry from the ground up.
Over time, Nate recognized a major gap: communication between contractors and ironworkers was often fragmented, creating unnecessary challenges on job sites. Determined to change that, he launched Canal City Industrial with a clear mission—to bridge that divide and deliver a smoother, more reliable experience for clients.
Today, Nate leads a team of skilled, efficient tradesmen who share his passion for craftsmanship and client satisfaction. Together, they’re redefining what dependable, detail‑driven steel erection and ornamental iron work can look like.
